My sister was reading these deep, entrenching, zen quotes on a game she was playing to me, and then she brought up a great point.
"Why does everyone find the need to be so deep?"
I found that to be a great question. Why?
Why do so many people find the need to sound so intelligent and so thoughtful all of the time? It’s kind of annoying at times because there are so many times in life that doesn’t call for a need to be so serious, but for a time to be happy and care-free. There’s nothing wrong with being deep, nothing at all. If that’s all you are though, you’re not truly that deep.
You don’t have to sound so deep and in thought all of the time.
I rather enjoy acting child-like (notice how I said child-like and not childish; there is a difference) a lot of the time. If you can recall what it was like to be kid and how there were no limits you know what I’m talking about. Children have the most fascinating imaginations and they dream up the most outrageous things, and it’s great. They haven’t been given the boundaries of what is possible and what is not. They haven’t been ruined by the limitations of what people set. I find myself to be so much happier when I don’t act how everyone expects a 19-year-old to act. Yes, I act like a dork, yes I love to watch Disney channel, yes I in fact draw pictures of dinosaurs eating my homework, and yes I am in college.
I don’t feel limited when I let my imagination and mind run away for a little bit.
When you find the need to be so deep and intelligent all of the time, you limit yourself to what you’re allowed to think. I’m not saying it’s bad. I’m not saying acting child-like all of the time is okay either. However you choose, don’t limit yourself with your decisions.
